Get ready to unleash your creativity at our Pumpkin Paintin' Party on Tuesday, October 14th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the clubroom! We’ll be supplying all the mini pumpkins, paint supplies, and a selection of spooky snacks to keep the autumn energy going. Whether you're an experienced artist or just looking to relax and catch up with neighbors over festive treats, come raise a paintbrush and celebrate the season with us!

October Traditions in PDX
Every October, the historic waterfront town of St. Helens—just 45 minutes northwest of Portland—transforms into the Spirit of Halloweentown, an annual regional tradition celebrating the iconic 1998 Disney Channel classic filmed in its plaza. Running every weekend through October 31, the festival brings movie nostalgia to life with the giant pumpkin lighting, haunted house attractions, street vendors, photo ops, and live entertainment. Whether you drive out for a weekend afternoon or take the Portland Spirit jetboat cruise directly to the plaza dock, it is one of the most famous and unique fall day trips in the Pacific Northwest.

Pet of the Month: Papa! 🐾
Meet Papa, our adorable October Pet of the Month! Papa enjoys playing tag with his mom and taking naps on his pink pillow. His favorite activities include making biscuits on the rug, attacking the Roku city cars on the TV, smacking his brother’s butt, and sneakily stealing his food any chance he gets. Don’t be fooled by his cute face; he is a professional ankle biter and will get you if you don’t watch those ankles. He did not grow up with cats, so he doesn’t really know how to meow; he just “mrrrs” loudly. He thinks he is big and bad, but he is scared of everything, ESPECIALLY balloons. He is very food-driven and may even sit or lie down for a treat, though you may need to cut back on treats because he is getting quite large.
