From Fourth of July celebrations and resident events to neighborhood happenings, World Cup excitement, and our annual Summer Digital Food Drive, there’s plenty to look forward to this month. We love seeing how our community shines in the sunshine! To celebrate the season and spread some summer cheer, we are launching a photo raffle—and the prizes are just what you need for your next hot-weather adventure.
The Prize: We are raffling off 10 adorable Tag-A-Long Igloo coolers! They are the perfect, vibrant little companions to support your summer vacations.

Local Happenings
4th of July in the Pearl
Summer has officially arrived, and Independence Day weekend is packed with ways to celebrate right in our backyard! Catch world-class live music and food at the Waterfront Blues Festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, which wraps up with the city's massive riverfront fireworks display at 10:00 PM on Saturday, July 4th. If you want to keep things steps from home, River Pig Saloon is hosting its annual Red, White, & BBQ block party on 13th Avenue starting at 2:00 PM, featuring a street holiday grill, live DJs, and outdoor drinks. Whether you are heading down to the riverfront or watching the skyline light up, have a safe and fantastic holiday weekend!

Mono Space
There is a brand-new, unique addition to our neighborhood's arts scene that audiophiles and music lovers won't want to miss. Located just down the street at 608 NW 13th Ave, Mono Space is a cool new non-profit organization operating as a high-fidelity vinyl listening gallery. Dedicated to the preservation of music culture and presenting recorded music as a true work of art, it offers a beautifully curated environment to slow down and experience sound deeply. Their upcoming mid-summer calendar features incredible community listening events, including dedicated full-album deep dives into classics like Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here and hosted presentations on iconic artists. Check out their schedule, learn about memberships, and stop by to support this fantastic new neighborhood non-profit!

North Coast Summer Digital Food Drive
Giving Back ❤️
North Coast Living's annual Summer Digital Food Drive is here! Running from June 29th to July 29th , helping support local food banks across the communities we serve. At The Gossamer, donations will benefit Sunshine Division Food Bank, providing critical resources to families throughout Portland OR. Every dollar donated can provide nearly three pounds of food and allows food banks to purchase fresh essentials like milk, eggs, produce, and meat. To maximize the impact, North Coast Living will match all monetary donations, doubling our community's contribution. Join us in donating to support neighbors in need.

Birdie ❤️
Gossamer’s Pet of the Month: Meet Birdie
Meet sweet Birdie, a two-year-old kitty who started her journey as a brave stray in Ashland, OR, before enjoying an early retirement at the Oregon Humane Society. While she looks perfectly formal sporting her tuxedo 24/7, this diva really knows how to let loose. When she isn’t jumping six feet in the air chasing her favorite "Da Bird" toy, playing fetch, or snacking on catnip, you can usually find her hanging out completely upside down. Since moving to The Goss, she has taken up a prestigious full-time position as the community's official crow supervisor, which she balances with her incredibly busy schedule of sitting on command, sleeping directly on her human's shoulders, snoring with her tongue sticking out, and maintaining a deeply intense obsession with plastic milk carton pull-tabs.
